Earning from your blog can be a greater challenge, as your income can be unpredictable. If you’re just a general lifestyle blogger and you apply to a job titled ‘Lifestyle Blogger Wanted,’ this is a simple process between a businessperson and a freelancer. However, if you want to have your own profitable blog…that’s a bit more complication and investment.
But it’s not impossible to earn from your own blog.
And I’m going to show you how.
First things first – what are you going to blog about?
Pick a Profitable Niche
If you want to make money from your blog, you want to establish yourself as a reputable source for a specific niche. Simply being a lifestyle blogger is not enough to attract sales or income for your blog. Why? You need to narrow it down. After all, the more specific you are – the greater chance you have of establishing yourself as an expert in that field.
For instance, here are great profitable lifestyle niches:
Natural Lifestyle: Plenty of people are ditching traditional heat on their hair, processed food, etc. Teach people how to live a natural lifestyle.
Stay-At-Home-Success: Are you pitching toward people who are also in a stay-at-home career? They’ll want to hear from you! This is a great niche!
Healthy & Active Lifestyle : You can blog about having a healthy lifestyle and make money from that. With over two-thirds of Americans overweight or obese, I’m sure plenty of people would like to read helpful tips on staying in shape, eating healthy, and being active.
Don’t Make the Blog About Yourself
The blog is about your readers. People will pay you to help them out; they’re not going to pay you to talk about yourself.
Make it seem as though your articles are directed at your readers – as they should be. That way, whoever’s reading your blog feels involved or important.
Your Subscribers are the Key to Success
Make sure you have a Subscriber button to stay connected with your followers. If they have the time to sign up and follow your blog, then hey…they are interested in what you gotta say, girl!
Your subscriber list is important because you’re going to want to offer them deals, newsletters, products, etc. That’s where the money comes in.
Start Earning
There are several ways you can make money, but here are the most common (and useful)”

- Affiliate Income
- E-Books and Books
- Coaching and Courses
- Hire Me Tab
People will pay to have advertisements on your blog, as we all know. Although, this is a great source to earn money – don’t count on it for a profitable income. Once your blog gains a good amount of traffic, I recommend Google Ad Words.
You can make affiliate income by signing up for programs (for instance, Amazon’s Associates Program). Affiliate Income is when you earn a certain amount of money from promoting someone, a product, a service, or site.
If you have a blog, this is a great way to promote your own books or e-books. And if you don’t have any? That’s a-ok! Writing an e-book is not that hard if you’re blogging already, – it just takes discipline. However, if you own a blog where people are subscribing – then they trust what you say! They already like your work enough to subscribe, so don’t be afraid to go further.
Coaching or making courses in your field is an awesome way to make money. If you’re successful in this whole entrepreneurship thing, whether it’s blogging or creating websites, believe it or not – people will pay you to coach them to their own success.
Add a Hire Me Tab to promote further freelance work or connections. This can allow you to turn readers to potential clients.
