Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Smoothie

This product isn’t in stores yet, but guess what? It’s ABSOLUTELY amazing – at least for my ‘4a/4b’ thin curly hair.

After trying out the Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor line, I had faith in this product. To say the least, I hit the jackpot. I had no idea Shea Moisture came out with another smoothie, particularly in the Jamaican Black Castor line, so I was quite surprised to learn of its existence.

You won’t find this product in Walmart, Target, or pharmacy stores – you either have to go online or Sally’s Beauty Store like I did. But first let me shout out the good stuff:

The great thing about this line is the essential ingredients it uses to promote healthy hair and hair growth. This smoothie is packed with goodies including coconut oil, essential oil blend, jojoba oil and of course castor oil.

#1 This smoothie is very moisturizing. When I put in my hair, I was so happy to obtain the moisture my curls craved so much after a failed wash day. My hair was feeling dry and frizzy so I was grateful for this moisturizing product.

#2 Bouncy Curls! After I put this product in, my curls were popping! This product is actually thick, compared to its sister product in the line – the Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave in Conditioner which is very runny. Essentially, because this product is thick, a little goes a long way. I also used the smoothie when my hair is dry, but it’s best applied when your hair is wet as you’ll hear most beauty experts say ‘this is your most frizz free state.’

To get the best out of this product, I scrunch my hair and squeeze the smoothie in and – voilà, I get awesome curls.

#3 It Lasts: The effects of this product including moisture and curls lasts throughout the week. For me, it lasted this long because I twisted my hair and used a mousee for its ending touches.

I love, love this product so much. The only cons I can think of is the fact that this product is greasy – and that’s simply because of the tons of oils in this product. But, anyways try to get this product online or in Sally Beauty, and if you have my type of hair and moisture issues, you will be pleased!
