As a music connoisseur, I believe that music has the power to speak to individuals and lift them through difficult sessions of life. As we are now going through the feeling of isolation, loneliness and or the longing to see your loved ones I decided to create a list of songs that have got me through these periods and will certainly do the same for you!
Minaj’s debut album Pink Friday consisted of a variety of bops and surely has been on repeat this week. However, out of 20 songs, “Did It On’em” remains solid. The song gives off “Baddy-B” vibes and definitely will remind you who you are: A queen/king.
2. Roses (Imanbek Remix) by SAINt JHN
Arising from Tik Tok, this song has definitely been played throughout my car speakers. I’m not usually one to listen to “EDM” remixes of songs, but this one definitely will lift your spirits on a gloomy day. Also note that the original version of this song is a must-have, but serves for a different purpose.
You definitely do not need a bass booster to be uplifted or motivated. For those who prefer a softer approach I definitely recommend not only this song but this artist, Nao. Her voice and vibe is definitely one of a kind. Among this song, I recommend listening to Bad Blood, Another Lifetime and If You Ever (feat. 6LACK).
4. SWING (feat. Normani & Davido) by Quavo
This song is definitely a hidden gem on Quavo’s 2018 album, QUAVO HUNCHO. This definitely makes me smile and sway side to side. Between Quavo’s lyrics and Normani’s soft verse, I can’t decide what I love more about this song.
5. Startender (feat. Offset and Tyga) by A Boogie wit da Hoodie
For those college students who are missing parties and dancing, this song is for you. Enough said.
6. Just The Two of Us (feat. Bill Withers) by Grover Washington Jr.
Even though these are precedented times that have fallen amongst us, don’t forget that we can make it if we try. This song is definitely soothing to the ears and as long as you listen closely to the lyrics, you can definitely make it through this month, let alone year.
