My Wash Day Routine (on 4a/4b hair)

First of all, my hair is Type 4a/4b. I wash my hair every two weeks and I co-wash once a week. I’ll start with my co-wash routine. Co-Wash

I co-wash my hair once a week. I use Miss Jessies Co-Wash which is really moisturizing but still a good cleanser. I follow up with TGIN Honey Miracle Hair Masque and a leave in conditioner.

Wash Day

I wash my hair every two weeks, and it takes at least two hours to do my hair on a wash day. To start off, I pre-poo or put in coconut oil to condition my hair.

Pre-Poo

I use coconut oil as my pre-conditioning treatment. I put a generous amount of coconut oil in my hair, rake it through for equal distribution, and I leave the coconut oil in for about 30 to 40 minutes.

I rinse out the coconut oil out of my hair, followed by a general wash with my shampoo or conditioner.

Deep Conditioner

After washing my hair with both the shampoo and conditioner, I follow up with a deep conditioner (my favorite, the TGIN Honey Miracle Mask, see the review here). I wait until my hair is generally damp and leave it in for an hour while wearing a plastic cap.

Finally, I rinse out my hair and use my spritz bottle for a little curl refreshment or leave-in conditioner.
